Kent Animal Shelter and Art Sites are collaborating for an animal photo contest for kids in grades 5 through 12.

My Furry Valentine Photo Contest will feature photos of kids' favorite animals on Saturday, Feb. 11, with attendees of the exhibit determining the winner. Prizes will be given out in two groups: grades 5 through 8, and grades 9 through 12.

Photos can include any type of animal, and a $10 donation is required to enter the contest, with all proceeds going to benefit Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton. Photos must be framed, measuring 8" X 10" and include the child's name, age, and phone number.

Photos can be submitted in person or sent to the Kent Animal Shelter at 2259 River Rd., Calverton, 11933.

Deadline for submissions is Jan. 31!
