Local Beer Company Brews New Local Special

Brew wil be created from hops grown on Wading River farm

Residents hankering for a taste of local flavor won't have long to wait.

The will be crafting a new brew that's as local as local could possibly get -- the special beer will be made from local hops grow at Condzellas Farm in Wading River.

On Tuesday, Long Ireland Beer Company representatives will be at the Wading River Farm, picking fresh hops that will be used to brew the beer later in the afternoon.

News has been brewing at the Long Ireland Beer Company in recent months: In February, the business announced plans for . And in May, the Long Ireland Beer Company put out its third bottle release, a collaborative effort with Centerport-based Blind Bat Brewery.

Dubbed Collaboration Saison Ale, the French farmhouse-style beer, brewed with a standard coriander flavor, offers drinkers a balance of yeasty and fruity esters while packing 6.6 percent alcohol by volume, a slightly heavier ABV for a typical saison.

After , the 2,500-batch of saisons came about naturally after Long Ireland owners Greg Martin and Dan Burke found themselves previously collaborating with Blind Bat owner Paul Dlugokencky.
