Scarecrows, Spooky Houses, and Transportation Talk in Riverhead Wednesday

- Weather in Riverhead will be mostly cloudy, with high temperatures expected to reach 64 degrees.

- A meeting of the East End Transportation Council takes place at Riverhead Town Hall at 10:30 a.m.

- The Dark Side Haunted House is open for spooky good times, starting at 1 p.m., on Route 25A in Wading River.

- Funeral services begin for Riverhead Police Department Detective Robert Boden at the Reginal H. Tuthill Funeral Home on East Main Street, with hours from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

- It's crochet basics at 10 a.m. at the Riverhead Free Library.

- Bring the kids to make a scarecrow at the Craft Barn in Baiting Hollow. $20 if you bring your own clothes. For $30, choose from an assortment of clothes and accessories; rope and straw provided. They will clean up the mess. For more info, call 631-745-8448.
