5 Events to Go to This Week in Riverhead

The fair may be over, but with a school bond vote, a "meet the candidates" night and more, this Columbus Day week is still busy for Riverhead residents

1. On Tuesday, Oct. 11, Riverhead voters will to decide the fate of a proposed to make improvements and upgrades to buildings around Riverhead Central School District. Check back on Tuesday for more information about the bond and where to go to vote.

2. With the election season gearing up for this November's town elections, now's the time to get to know who's running for office. On Wednesday, Oct. 12, candidates running for town office will attend a "" night sponsored by the Greater Calverton Civic and the Wading River Civic Associations at 7 p.m. in the . The next day, the Democratic party's candidates at the Stoneleigh Clubhouse beginning at 7 p.m.

3. Come hear local singers and songwriters at this month's "" at the in downtown Riverhead on Thursday, Oct. 13 beginning at 7 p.m. The event will include featured artists and an open mic session on the Music Hall's two stages. Tickets cost $5 per person.

4. Do you love pizza? If you know a teenager who does, check out the free "" event at this Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. Teens will learn how to make their own pizza pies with the help of a "baking coach."
