With spring just a week away, we’ve compiled a list of a few, great places that still have openings for your children.
1. Suffolk County Girls Scouts
The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County are holding a Spring Break program that includes, crafts, songs and games from March 25, through March 29. The all-girls camp takes place at Camp Edey in Bayport. Cost is only $174 per girl and you do not need to be a Girl Scout to attend. For more information, call (631) 472-1625 or click here.
2. Peconic Dunes 4-H Center
Peconic Dunes will host a Spring Break Camp from March 25 through March 29; the camp is an overnight program. Campers arrive Monday at 9:00 a.m. and depart Friday at 7:00 p.m. The program takes place at the Cliff House at Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp in Riverhead. Activities include DEC games, including predator/prey and quick frozen critters; an ebird Citizen Science Project, an Ecology Hike; inquiry-based experimentation in groups; and night games, including capture the flag, manhunt and charades. 3. Boy Scouts of Suffolk County
The Baiting Hollow Boy Scout Camp in Calverton is offering a sleepover camp for Boy Scouts from March 24 to March 29. The week includes meals, special presentations and merit badge projects. The boys will sleep in either tents or cabins. The price is $265 for the week. Aside from sleepover camp, Baiting Hollow Boy Scout Camp also offers a day camp opportunity for cub scouts that will run from March 25 to March 29 from 8: 30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The price for this program, which includes lunch and a snack is $250. 4: Long Island Science Center
The Long Island Science Center in Riverhead offers a progrram on March 28, 29, and 30 called "Let's Plant Spring!" Kids can visit during the spring break to learn about what's growing in the spring, as well as participate in activities and make a planter to take home.
5: Southold Free Library
The Southold Free Library presents "Family Lego Club With Miss Dana," Tuesday through Friday, March 26 through 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. The Lego building fun continues over spring break -- all ages welcome; family and friends are welcome to build and play.
