Deanna Testa said she is currently casting struggling family owned restaurants for a new television series on a major food cable network.

Zimmerman/Edelson posted that the public is invited to attend a meeting and provide input for the regional sustainability plan being created through the Cleaner, Green Communities grant.

3. Scouting for Food

Michal Dluginski posted that scouts of all ages will be going door to door in the coming weeks to ask for food. Their goal will be to collect more than 85,000 pounds of food donations that will be distributed to food pantries, soup kitchens, and charitable organizations that feed the hungry across Long Island.

Mark Scott posted that shoppers at the local Modell’s Sporting Goods will soon be getting a more exciting and faster checkout experience with NCR Corporation providing retail technology and services to the 154-store Modell’s Sporting Goods chain.

5. North Shore Christian Church Moves to 3 Services

Jerry Halpin wrote that North Shore Christian Church, located at 120 Kroemer Avenue in Riverhead, is adding a third service and changing our services times on Sunday to 8:30am, 9:45am and 11:00am.
