5 Memorials and Events You Need To Know About For This Weekend

This weekend, Riverhead will honor the memories of those lost in 9/11.

1. WBAB and WBLI are hosting a today from 2 - 8 p.m. at the Tanger Outlet Center. Those who give blood will recieve a "Give Life for Lives Lost" t-shirt.

2. The will unveil its 9/11 Memorial Exhibition tonight beginning at 6 p.m. The exhibition includes rare photographs of the WTC's construction as well as artwork, and also features a video project of Suffolk County residents sharing their stories about 9/11. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the and will run until October 1.

3. The Town of Riverhead will be down Riley Avenue on Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. The procession will end with a memorial service for 9/11 victims.

4. Sound Park Heights will lead a along with the Riverhead Police and Fire Departments beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 11. Attendees are invited to bring friends, families, and guests, as well as small American flags to leave at the 9/11 Memorial.

5. The First Parish Church will hold a special at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 11. Graduate Elizabeth Rather Fordham will share her first-hand memories of the tragedy.
