7 Places to Ring In the New Year in Riverhead

Now that Christmas is over and the gifts have been opened, it's time to think about where you'll be ringing in the new year.

Bistro 72 at Hotel Indigo: Celebrate New Year’s Eve At Bistro 72, an annual supper club style New Year’s Eve party. The party which will feature a four-course prix fixe dinner prepared by Chef James Junk, and optional Long Island beer wine and spirits pairings by course, with a special performance by The Jesse Barnes Trio from 9 p.m. through 1 a.m. 

Also at Hotel Indigo, it's "Champagne & Chandeliers 2014." Beginning at 9 p.m., welcome in 2014 at Hotel Indigo’s New Years Eve party. The event will include a premium open bar from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., tapas style dinner service, DJ and dancing in the Indigo Ballroom. Or, opt for the Premium Package, which, for $495 per couple, includes admission for two to the "Champagne & Chandeliers "party, overnight accommodations and breakfast for two the following morning. Reservations are required for dinner and hotel rooms, and a limited number of walk-ins at the bar for the party are welcome.

The Riverhead Project: Ring in the New Year at The Riverhead Project with a special celebration co-hosted by Sparkling Pointe. The vault will become “TheBubble Lounge” for the evening where guests may enjoy a five-course private wine dinner featuring Sparkling Pointe wines starting at 6 p.m. Cost is $55 per person, plus tax and gratuity. A holiday a la carte menu will be served in the main dining room and the lounge will feature a dance floor with a live DJ. The celebration will continue into New Year’s Day with a “beer dinner” beginning at noon. Tweed's: Tweed's will host a New Year's Eve gala, with live music and a champagne toast. Open New Year's Day from 1 p.m. through 9 p.m. For reservations and info, call 631-237-8120.

The Cooperage Inn: Serving a special holiday menu on New Year's Eve; open for New Year's Day brunch from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. For reservations and info call 631-727-8994.

The Outerbanks Restaurant: Head to The Outerbanks Restaurant at the Indian Island Golf & County Club dinner on New Year's Eve for an early bird buffet special at 4 p.m.; $25 per person. Or, choose a sit-down dinner for $34 per person; includes appetizer and entree. Seatings at 6, 8 and 10 pm. Call 631-873-4123 for reservations; space is limited. Does not include tax or gratuity.

The Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center:  It's a family New Year's Eve celebration at the Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center with "Fishes & (Butterly) Wishes Celebration." The event takes place on New Year's Eve from 6:30 to 11 p.m. The event is now scheduled for both the aquarium and the Sea Star Ballroom and includes food and entertainment. Kids are invited to a Winter Wonderland with animal encounters and crafts. Guest can choose between the aquarium's "Splash Bash" or the "Butterfly Ball Drop" at the Sea Star Ballroom, with entry into the Butterflies & Birds! exhibit only. The night will include a champagne and sparkling cider greeting, a live DJ and entertainment, a mock-midnight champagne and cider toast at 10:30 p.m., cocktail hour, a dinner buffet, with beer and wine included, dessert and ice cream bar. "Splash Bash" price: Children 3-12 and seniors 62+: $55 (Members: $50). Adults: $90 (Members: $80). Children two and under: free.
