Civic Group To Discuss Redevelopment in Blighted Areas

The meeting will take place Monday at 7 p.m. in Flanders.

Along with the new year, a local civic group will discuss renewed plans for redevelopment in blighted areas.

The January meeting of the Flanders, Riverside and Northampton Community Association will focus on an update on a pedestrian bridge planned to link downtown Riverhead with Riverside.

In addition, there will be a briefing on a planned community garden, as well as in introduction to the Riverside redevelopment process, with guest speakers from master developer Renaissance Downtowns, as well as government representatives including Southampton Town Council Members Christine Scalera and Brad Bender.

The meeting will take place Monday at 7 p.m at the David W. Crohan Center on Route 24 in Flanders.
