Coen Brothers Film Shooting on Monday

Detours expected around Route 105/Northville Turnpike area.

An , Inside Llewyn Davis, will be shooting in town on Monday.

Riverhead Police will be shutting down several roads in the vicinity of Northville Turnpike/Route 105 from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m.

The following detours will be in place:

  • 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Northville Turnpike - complete closure from Doctors Path to Sound Avenue
  • 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Northville Turnpike - Doctors Path to Route 105
  • 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Route 105 - complete closure from Route 25 to Sound Avenue
  • 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Union Avenue - local traffic only, no northbound traffic onto Route 105

Gary Pendzick, the town's water district superintendent, said that the production crew is planning on designing the barn located on the property as a 1960s-style gas station. He added that part of the film has characters taking a road trip from New York to Chicago, and the open space around the area was desirable.

The release of the film is set for 2013, and film is said to focus on the New York folk music scene in the 1960s. Production is currently in progress in New York City.

John Goodman, who has starred in Coen brothers films in the past, and Justin Timberlake, are reportedly part of a cast including Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Garrett Hedlund.

The film's production company, Fantastic Voyage LLC, paid the town $10,000 for use of the property and police detail.
