Crowds Line Up for Psychic At Suffolk Theater

Hundreds turned out to see into their futures, and find loved ones from the past.

Hours before the 8 p.m. start time of psychic Jim Fargiano's appearance at the Suffolk Theater, crowds began lining up outside.

The show was a sell-out, Bob Spiotta, executive director of the Suffolk Theater, said, the first time since the venue launched, except for the grand opening, that the crowd was standing room only.

Although the theater has hosted two other psychics, Spiotta said the third time was the charm.

"Jim is very popular," Spiotta said. "He's very well-known and has a big following. Anyone who has had any experience with him either publicly or in a private session comes away very deeply affected."

Fargiano was expected to commune with various members of the  primarily female crowd, but not every person who attended could expect a one-on-one encounter.

"In a public forum, he won't be able to speak to every person — but over 300 people know that and are still here," Spiotta said "There is still something that is bringing them together."

Spiotta said, as a man of the theater, he believes Fargiano touches a human chord, an innate yearning to see into the future and connect with loved ones from their past.

"There's a sense of an age-old ritual of people gathering together to share an experience, coming together in a theater with a communal energy. That's really what this is about. This isn't a performance – this is an experience. And it draws people together."
