Jazz vocalist Barbara Rosen will take the stage on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m., for a fundraiser to benefit the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall.
Rosene's program will feature songs from her current Grammy-nominated CD release "Nice & Naughty".
Acknowledged by Jazz Inside, Cadence and the All Music Guide among others, Rosen has been dubbed as one of the top vocal interpreters of swing and early jazz in the country, according to Vail-Leavitt organizers.
Rosen has performed internationally with groups including the Harry James Orchestra, Les Paul, Vince Giordano's Nighthawks and Woody Allen's band at famous venues including Iridium and Lincoln Center's Rose Hall and numerous jazz festivals.
Featured in Scott Yanow's definitive collection, "Great Jazz Singers", she has also appeared multiple times on National Public Radio.
Also performing will be saxophonist Mike Hashim, sideman of Muddy Waters, Clarence Gatemouth Brown and Roy Eldridge, Chris Jones on string bass, and Bob Barta on banjo/guitar; Barta is the leader of the Sunnyland Jazz Band.
