2011 EMS Memorial Bike Ride

Approximately 120 cyclists who are Emergency Medical Service (EMS) professionals from around the country, called collectively the “Muddy Angel," will participate in an 8 day bike ride organized by the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride, Inc., a national organization that gives charitable support to EMS personnel by organizing and implementing long distance cycling events that memorialize and celebrate the lives of those who serve every day. The ride starts in Boston, Mass. and will end in Washington. On Sunday, May 15, The Riverhead Town Police will escort the riders from the Southold Town line to the Hilton Garden Inn, where the cyclists will spend the night before heading out to Westbury. Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean M. Walter will greet the cyclists upon arrival at the Hilton Garden Inn at 4 p.m. The Riverhead Fire Department will  host a dinner for the riders at 6 p.m. at the firehouse. For more information regarding the dinner, please call Chief Luparella at 631-727-2751.
