Grab & Go Kids Planner: Make a Yarn Doll, See a Parade or Have Spaghetti at the Polish Town Hall

Events going on around or near our town for the children and the family.

Welcome to the Grab & Go Kids planner. We want to highlight events posted on our calendar in and around town focusing on kid-friendly activities and new places for you to try out with children.

Each week we will give you the best family activities or events for the week.

  • When/where: , Friday, 2:15-3:15 p.m.
  • Why go: Support the arts at this special assembly at Roanoke Avenue Elementary School.
  • Pricing: Free!
  • Ages:  Open to all.

  • When/where: . Friday, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
  • Why go: A great chance for your children to socialize and get some exercise too!  Teen Night is an open gym program sponsored by the Riverhead Youth Bureau.  Each child must be signed in and out by a parent.
  • Pricing: Free!
  • Ages:  Open to students in grades 5 and 6 only. 

  • When/where: . Friday, 5:00pm–7:00pm
  • Why go: Local teen arts will have their work on display in the Riverhead Friday. This art show is in memory of Riverhead teacher Vinny Nasta.
  • Pricing: Free!
  • Ages: Open to All, Teens.

  • Where/when: . Saturday, 10:00am–12:00pm
  • Why go: Michaels will hold a free make-it take-it project for children ages 3 and up. Children will learn how to make yarn dolls.
  • Pricing: Free!
  • Ages: Ages 3 and up

  • Where/when: . Saturday, 2:00pm.
  • Why go: Something fun for the kids to see. The Riley Avenue Elementary School will presents "Cinderella."
  • Pricing: $7
  • Ages: Families, Kids

  • Where/when: Main Rd, Cutchogue, Saturday, 2:00mp-3:00pm.
  • Why go:  North Fork Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring it's 7th Annual St Patrick's Day Parade. Pipe Bands, Irish Dancers, civic organizations, schools will march down the main road from Cox Lane to the Village Green. 
  • Pricing: Free!
  • Ages: All Ages

  • Where/when: . Tuesday, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
  • Why go: Get creative with your little one! Self expression through age appropriate art activities will inspire your child's inner artist! Exposure to different ways of painting, collage, sculpture and printing among other activities is combined with exploring colors and textures.  You can drop in or sign up for multiple classes and save.
  • Pricing: $15 drop in
  • Ages: 2-5 years old.

  • Where/when: ,. Wednesday, 12:00pm–8:00pm
  • Why go: The Rotary Club of Riverhead will hold a spaghetti dinner at Polish Hall in Riverhead. Lunch will be served from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner will be served from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Proceeds will go to local charities. Tickets are available from Rotarians and will be available at the door.
  • Pricing: Lunch: $10 for adults/ $8 for seniors/ $6 for children ages 3-12. Dinner: $12 for adults/ $10 for seniors/$8 for children
  • Ages: All Ages
