Last Chance: Kick Off Your Shoes for a Cause

East End Disabilities is holding its annual gala on Saturday, with food, dancing, and auctions.

With state and federal funding becoming more scarce for non-profits of all shapes and sizes, is looking forward to its annual gala, this year at in Port Jefferson.

"These are becoming more and more important to do what we need to do," said Chief Financial Officer Jim Martinsen. "There's a limited pool of donors out there and a lot of causes, so we've had to get more and more people involved in our fundraising efforts in different ways."

Saturday's Celestial Celebtration begins with a cocktail hour starting at 6 p.m. Dinner, dancing, and a silent and live auction will follow. The cost per seat is $175.

While over 200 are already signed up to attend, Chief Executive Officer Lisa Meyer-Fertal said there's always room for a couple more.
