Last Chance: Music At The Meeting House

Head to the Jamesport Meeting House Sunday afternoon to hear The Sopranos perform a selection of Broadway and contemporary favorites.

Don’t miss the chance to celebrate the sounds of the season at the Jamesport Meeting House, which kicks off its spring “Music at the Meeting House” series with “Peas in the Pod” on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The performance features “The Sopranos,” Maribeth Mundell and Lauren Sisson, presenting a concert of contemporary and Broadway favorites, including selections from “Wicked” and “Showboat.” Lea Kendall will accompany on the piano.

Tickets cost $15, or $10 for students, and are available at the door. Net proceeds support the Meeting House.

North Fork residents Mundell and Sisson first met when they sang together with the Long Island Consort and Madrigal Singers during the 1990s. With fellow LICMS member Lynda Clements, they went on to form The Ensemble, a vocal trio, later known as Galaxy. After Clements moved away, the two paired up as “The Sopranos” and teamed up with Kendall for concerts.

Mundell, a professional vocalist and vocal coach, performs with the acoustic duo Diamonds and Rust, writes and sings for her band, Lesus Mor, and is the song leader for the First Parish Church UCC in Northville. Sisson is a well-known face for her roles with the North Fork Community Theater and Riverhead Faculty and Community Theater. Kendall gives private piano lessons in Greenport, accompanies area choruses and individuals, and is a roaming substitute organist/pianist for several North Fork churches and has performed numerous times at the Meeting House.
