Actually located in Jamesport, the wildlife rescue organization run by Director Karen Testa promotes its mission on its Facebook page: "To rehabilitate injured, abused, native, reptiles to be released back into the wild, where they can live out their lives."
Its first day of operation in May, according to the article, Testa cared for a box turtle that was brought in after it was run over, its shell cracked. The turtle - as well as her three eggs - were all saved.
“She is our success story,” Testa told Bloomberg News. “The people who brought her in call once a week for an update.”
