Photo of the Day: In Memory of Keri and Jason Trinca

A community reflected on Monday.

Candles and lanterns illuminated the front porches in the Eastport-South Manor community Monday night as family and friends lit them to honor the memories of Keri and Jason Trinca, who died tragically in a car accident one year before, on October 8, 2012.

A fundraiser to benefit the Trinca family will be organized by Maria Paladino, who founded the new Nesconset-based Butterflies of Hope Foundation. "The Keri & Jason Trinca Memorial Event," will be held on November 15 at Giorgio's in Baiting Hollow and will "celebrate two lives, gone too soon."

A year after the tragedy, Jay Trinca keeps the memory of his wife and son alive and carries on for his daughter, Marialena, 5, who continues to improve, and his son Christopher, 3.
