PHOTOS: Scouts Offer Fun and Scares at Baiting Holloween
The Suffolk County Boy Scouts host Halloween entertainment and a haunted trail at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp.
"Baiting Holloween" at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp, 1774 Sound Avenue, Calverton, opened Saturday. The event features daytime activities for children and a at night. Admission is $13 for children and $4 for adults for daytime activities, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities include carnival games, bounce houses, hay rides, pumpkin decorating, demonstrations by the Riverhead police canine unit, Department of Environmental Conservation, ham radio operators and more. The remaining dates are Oct. 23 and Oct. 29. The haunted trail is open Oct. 22 and Oct. 29, starting at 8 p.m. Admission is $13 for everyone. Camp director Jim Grimaldi said the trail is designed for kids of any age and adults who like a good scare. "The goal is to scare you," he said. "If you don't like to be scared, it's not for you."
Admission to both events includes a hot dog and drink. Baiting Holloween is open to all, not just Scouting families. Costumes are encouraged.
