Photos: Spring Egg Hunt an Egg-celent Time for Parents and Kids

The Town of Riverhead Recreation Department holds its annual egg hunt at Stotzky Park.

Saturday morning was perfect weather for the Town of Riverhead Recreation Department's egg hunt. Parents and young ones came out to Stotzky Park for the  annual hunt, which takes place every spring for children up to age nine.

There were plenty of eggs to be found, including special eggs that had various prizes for the lucky egg finders. Prizes included candy and stuffed bunnies. Four separate egg hunts took place including: children with special needs, children ages four and under, children ages five and six and children ages seven, eight, and nine. Children ages five through nine also competed in a sack race.

In a separate field there were games including ring toss and egg on a spoon races.  Riverhead's own girls junior varsity softball team was also there to oversee and assist the children with the games.

The morning would not have been complete without a special guest appearance from the Easter Bunny! Parents and children lined up and took turns posing with the bunny for photos. An EGGcellent time was had by all!
