Riverhead Fire Department's Open House Coming Soon
The annual Riverhead Fire Department Open House is filled with fun family activities.
A family favorite event is coming soon to downtown, as the Riverhead Fire Department plans to open its doors and shine up the firetrucks for the annual Open House.
The event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Riverhead Fire Department headquarters, located at 540 Roanoke Avenue.
The event will include displays and demonstrations of emergency equipment, including the jaws of life, the fire prevention trailer, stove fires, a vehicle fire, the use of fire extinguishers, and roof ventilation.
Kids of all ages will be able to enjoy hands-on use of fire extinguishers and fire hoses.

In addition, the annual Fire Prevention Poster contest will be on display.
Light refreshments will be served.
