Perhaps nothing summons up the holiday spirit and pulls at the heartstings of childhood memories more than the sight of a model train set.
Currently, a model of the Riverhead Rail Road station is on display at the Belle Terre Toys For Tots Train Exhibit, whick kicked off during the Charles Dickens Festival in Port Jefferson.
A newly built elevated track, spanning the entire width of the Toys For Tots Railroad exhibit in Belle Terre, is on display. According to John Serabian, who was working the switches, the new wooden beams and trusses were built on site and took three days to cut and assemble.
The electric trains will be on display at the Belle Terre community center until Dec. 26. You can keep up with the Toys For Tots Railroad on Facebook.
