Beat Traffic, Head to Tall Ships By Boat

Riverhead residents can hop aboard a vessel bound for Greenport this weekend.

All roads lead to Greenport this weekend as the Tall Ships anchor in the village's historic harbor.

But if you're looking to beat the Memorial Day traffic, has a solution -- a tour boat that will take visitors out to Greenport by water.

has scheduled departures for Saturday, May 26 and Monday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. from behind the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center.

The boat ride to Greenport is an hour and a half, and leaves guests approximately four hours to enjoy the festivities before a 4:30 p.m. departure.

In the event of inclement weather, alternate transportation via the Long Island Rail Road will be arranged.

Cost for the tour boat is $30.00 for those 13 year old and up; $25 for seniors over 65; and $20 for kids under 12. Prices include the tour boat ride and Tall Ships tickets for two.

And, for guests hoping to stay for a weekend of festivities, the   offers a $500.00 Tall Ships package that includes two nights at the Hyatt Place East End, with a choice of May 25 and 26 or May 27 and 28, two tickets on the Atlantis Explorer Tour boat, weather permitting, and two tickets for the Tall Ships Festival.
