Scouts Place Flags At Calverton National Cemetery on Saturday

Suffolk County Scouts will honor the fallen on Memorial Day weekend.

Paying solemn respect to the United States military who have paid the ultimate price for freedom, Suffolk County Scouts will place flags on the graves of the fallen this Saturday in honor of Memorial Day weekend.

The annual flag placement is a tradition for East End Scouts. All Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, Venture crews, Explorer posts, and Scouting families participate -- teaching children the importance of paying respect.

The event takes place on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., when Scouts will place flags at pre-assigned areas of the cemetery to honor military men and women.
