Search is on for Riverhead's People of the Year
Nominate who you think deserves to be one of the town's best and brightest this year.
With Time magazine announcing its Person of the Year this week, Riverhead Patch thought it might be fun to launch its own similar search.
Time readers voted on a variety of people who influenced the news most, from Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kim Kardashian. On Wednesday, Time announced 'The Protestor' as its 2011 Person of the Year.
At Riverhead Patch we are asking our readers for nominations on the local level. Please tell Patch either in the comments section below, through our social media, or by emailing Paul.Squire@patch.com who deserves such a title and why.

It could be a politician, a student, a community member, businessperson, firefighter or volunteer — whoever you think, just as long as he or she lives in, works in or serves the Riverhead community.
We'll leave the nominations open for a few days, pick the best from that list and post the result during our Year in Review week between Christmas and New Year's Day.
