Sunday is Father's Day – Make Dad a Great Gift!

Have the best dad in the world? Show him how much you appreciate him with one of these easy-to-do gifts.

Sunday is Father's Day. You still have time to make Dad a terrific gift. And because every dad is different, we've come up with a variety of ideas.  Pick one that suits your Dad to a T!

For Handy-Around-the-Yard or Garden-Dads

Surprise Dad by dipping the handles of his rakes, shovels, hoes or other garden tools in a product like Plasti-Dip.  Covering the ends of the handles helps him keep track of the tools in the garage or the yard – the bright colors are easy to see in a dark garage or lying on the lawn or in the garden. The plastic coating minimizes splinters, too. Visit to find your favorite color. Dad will love that you took the time to help him out.

For Dads Who Have a Hobby

Snap a photo of Dad doing his favorite hobby with his best buddy. Paint a simple frame and add a special message using foam letters.  Every time Dad looks at the photo he'll  enjoy the memory of the time you spent together. All supplies are available at Arts and Crafts Store for about $10.

For Dads Who Work at a Desk

Make Dad a paperweight. Find a rock at the beach and paint it to look like a baseball, a team logo, an animal, or any other image that the dad in your house will appreciate.

For Dads Who Need Help Around the House

Make Dad a gift he can "redeem" when he wants to. Fill a small basket or bucket with gift cards good for chores to  help him out. Some suggestions:

  • Good for one hour of yard work
  • Good for one car wash
  • Good for taking out the trash

You get the idea – offer whatever help Dad could use - and then do it cheerfully!
