Annual gathering attracts 800 in Hauppauge.
The First Baptist Church in Riverhead held its 26th annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast on Monday in Hauppauge. The breakfast attracted a diverse and sizable crowd, hosting nearly 800 people to reflect upon the ideals and dreams of Dr. King on the holiday which celebrates his memory. Dr. Calvin O. Butts served as the keynote speaker, with speeches also from Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy and Congressmen Tim Bishop, D-Southampton, and Steve Isreal, D-Huntington.
