Volunteers Needed to Walk, Play With Dogs at Local Shelters

Volunteers are needed at both Riverhead and Southold shelters.

The North Fork Animal Welfare League is looking for volunteers to help with dogs in both the Southold and Riverhead locations.

According to administrators, most of the dog walkers are heading to warmer climates for the winter, leaving holes to fill.

Volunteers are need to walk the dogs, take them for car rides, play tug of war, do some basic obedience training or supervise them on the treadmill.
