Santa Visits Town Board

Riverhead town board members were all smiles when Santa paid a surprise visit during Thursday's work session.

Santa handed a gift to each town board member and left quickly, leaving Town Supervisor Sean Walter happily opening what he said he thought was chocolate.

Councilman Jim Wooten, however, was the first to note that that gift was actually coal.

A Fishy Lesson

Port Jefferson High School students applied lessons learned about fish fins and scales to an ancient Japanese printmaking technique this week when they painted real fish and pressed paper on top to create the prints. Let's just hope they were fresh.
