Can you take a guess what area this historical photo depicts?
Snapped in the first half of the 20th century, the aerial view shows a landscape that has changed a lot over time. Let us know in the comments where you thing this is.
If you are cleaning out the "junk" you've accumulated over the years and come across old photos, postcards, documents, brochures, letters, calendars or anything having to do with Terryville, Port Jefferson Station or Echo, consider donating them to the Cumsewogue Historical Society.
They are always looking for advertising items from local businesses whether they are long gone or still open. If you don't wish to part with your old photos, please consider allowing them to scan them for the archive. They will then be returned to you.
Please contact the Cumsewogue Historical Society at (631) 928-7622 or e-mail:firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. All donations are tax deductible and you will be given a receipt for your donation.
The Cumsewogue Historical Society will meet next on Wednesday Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Terryville Union Hall on Terryville Road in Port Jefferson Station.
