Aquebogue Girl Chosen to Perform in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Danielle Allen, a sophomore at Bishop McGann-Mercy High School, will perform on the "Zhuniverse" float.

A sophomore has been selected to perform in the 85th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, according to a story in the Riverhead News-Review on Monday.

Danielle Allen, 15, of Aquebogue, was one of about 130 performers to be chosen to sing and dance on the “Zhuniverse” float in Thursday's parade. The teen, who has been involved with dance and theater since she was a child and performed in this summer's production of Footloose at the North Fork Community Theatre, said the parade would be a "one-in-a-lifetime thing."

“I’m really excited,” Allen told the News-Review. “I’ve never ever performed for so many people before.”
