Jedediah Hawkins Inn Offers 'Gatsby Getaways'

Step back in time at the Jedediah Hawkins Inn.

With "The Great Gatsby" offering a big-screen glimpse into the grandeur of the 1920s through Baz Luhrmann's film adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel -- into a world where mansions glimmered with opulence and speakeasies flourished in the face of Prohibition -- now, there's a chance to experience a taste of the era on the North Fork.

To celebrate the release of the film, also set on Long Island, the Jedediah Hawkins Inn is offering midweek Gatsby Getaway packages.

The Grand Gatsby Getaway Package, $540, includes a stay in the Belvedere Suite with a bottle of champagne, Daisy's drink of choice. Guests will receive a 10 percent discount on the room, a bottle of French champagne on ice,
tickets to the film and a paperback copy of "The Great Gatsby." For a taste of the 20s, there's a speakeasy on-site.

The Speakeasy Gatsby Getaway, $315, includes a stay in a regular room with a 10 percent discount, tickets to the film, a paperback copy of the book and and two
Prohibition-era cocktails, such as a gin rickey or a mint julep, served in the downstairs speakeasy.

The packages are available Sunday through Thursday, from May 13 through the end of June. They cannot be redeemed with any other special and the offer should
be mentioned at the time of booking.
