Mercy NHS Brightens the Day at Peconic Bay Skilled Nursing Facility

Members of the McGann-Mercy National Honor Society went to Peconic Bay Skilled Nursing Facility to bring some joy and fun into the lives of its residents.

On November 3, 2011, instead of going home after a long day at school, members of the McGann-Mercy Sr. Euphrasia Chapter of the National Honor Society went to the Peconic Bay Skilled Nursing Facility to bring some joy and fun into the lives of its residents.

Talent amongst the 29 students who made the visit abounded!  After introductions where students spoke a little bit about themselves and shared their college plans, residents of Peconic Bay Skilled Nursing Facility were treated to acoustical music numbers, sing-a-longs, dancing and games.  After an afternoon of fun, the question was asked, “who had the better time, the students or the residents?”  Depending on who answered, you would get the same response, “we did – it was a lot of fun.”
