McGann-Mercy Students Receive Commendation from National Merit Scholarship Program

Seniors Nicholas Motlenski and Melissa Wilson have been named Commended Students in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Bishop McGann-Mercy Diocesan High School is proud to announce that two of its students, seniors Nicholas Motlenski of Aquebogue and Melissa Wilson of Hampton Bays, have been named Commended Students in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2012 competition by taking the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).  Despite receiving this outstanding accolade, they will not continue in the 2012 competition for National Merit Scholarships.
