10 Places to Get a Christmas tree
Possibly the most cherished and popular holiday tradition may be that of finding the perfect Christmas tree to gather around with your loved ones. We searched for the best local places to find one.
This family owned and operated farm has been in business for four generations. They offer pre-cut and cut your own. With over 100 acres of trees to choose from, you will not have a problem finding the perfect tree! Every tree is $30 regardless of size, except for the live balled trees, which are $50. There is a tractor that will pick you up at the entrance and take you around the farm. Saws are available with a $5 deposit. This farm is in its 15th season, offering pre-cut trees, balled and bur lapped trees and cut your own. Douglas Fir, White Pine and Norway Spruce are available for purchase. Field trees are $65, all others have price tags. Wreaths, arches, center pieces and more are made on the premises uses material from the farm. On the weekends, families can participate in a train ride, complementary hot chocolate and popcorn and a visit from Santa. An antique sleigh museum is attached to the gift shop. 631-298-4619.

This tree farm has approximately 30 acres of land, with 65,000 trees growing in different stages. You can choose from Douglas Fir and Concolour Fir trees. As early as the fall people can come to the farm to claim which tree they want. The gift shop features handmade wreaths, snow globes, ornaments and other cheerful items. Trees up to 8 feet are $65, those taller are an additional $8 per foot. They are open daily until Christmas Eve from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. 631-734-7627.
A wreath shop, tractor rides, a live band and Santa make this tree farm full of entertainment. Douglas Fir and Fraser Fir trees are featured on this farm. 5. North Fork Preserve
Starting Columbus Day weekend you can visit the North Fork and pick your tree for the Christmas season. This opportunity lasts through Thanksgiving. With over 5,000 trees and vast amounts of land there are many beautiful trees to choose from! The North Fork Preserve is located on Sound Avenue in Aquebogue. Prices range from $55-$75. 631-369-9592.
6. Windy Acres Farm
Open seven days a week, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m., this farm offers fresh cut Christmas trees. They also have an abundant farm stand available and fresh pies for your holiday gatherings. Windy Acres is on Middle County Road in Calverton. 631-727-4554.

8. Grandpa Tony's Tree Farm
Here you can find your favorite Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir or Norway Spruce. Saws and cutting asisstance are available. Prices range from $25-50, depending on size. Grandpa Tony's is located at 305 Weeks Avenue in Manorville, and open Thurs.- Sun., 8 a.m.- 7 p.m. 516-639-3587
This farm is open every day through Christmas Eve from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.. There are over 10,000 trees to choose from, ranging in size from 2 ft to 14 ft. Colorado Blue Spruce are $15 per foot. 10. Olsen's Tree Farm
This family-owned farm has been selling Christmas trees since 1951. Olsen's sells Fraser, Noble, Grand and Balsam Firs, each a guaranteed fresh cut. Oslens also offers wreaths and Christmas supplies. 631-728-1160.
