5 Things To Do Around Riverhead Labor Day Weekend

Here are some fun things to do to celebrate the end of summer.

Riverhead is full of fun and relaxing things to do this Labor Day weekend. Check out some of the events going on around town, kick back, and enjoy the last hoorah of summer with family and friends.

Go bowling: A new bowling alley, The All Star, on Route 58 in RIverhead Thursday night. Don your bowling shoes and shoot for a strike.

Race a lawnmower: The Riverhead Elks Lodge #2044 will host lawn mower and children's bike races on Monday, Labor Day, between noon and 4 p.m.

Honor a hero: Remember  on Saturday, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. at the . The price is $50.00 for a 25 mile or 12.5 mile bike ride around Shelter Island. A community cookout will follow at the American Legion Hall with the Realm performing. Theinert was killed in Afghanistan on June 4, 2010. He was assigned to the Army’s 1st Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, part of the 10th Mountain Division. Proceeds will benefit the Joseph J. Theinert Memorial Fund. 

Hospitality workers, take a break. On Labor Day, take a break from slaving away in the kitchen or slinging drinks beind the bar at the Riverhead Project for . Enjoy half-price drinks from open to close. To participate, bring your most recent pay stub. The Riverhead Project is located at 300 E. Main Street.

Kids eat free at Applebee's.
