Traveling with the kids isn't always easy in today's economy.
But Cross Sound Ferry is offering a promotion for winter break week, when Riverhead students are off from school, aimed at helping families travel during the vacation.
The Winter Break promotion, said CSF marketing director Stanley Mickus, has been offered for almost 20 years.
"it’s a chance to give families a substantial break on the ferry fare – an almost 50 percent discount in some cases – to travel during the week of school vacation," Mickus said.
The ferry fare offered is $65 for a car and up to six passengers round-trip, including the driver, he said.
In addition, the CSF partners with the Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Seaport, the Pequot Museum and select Marriott properties to offer discounts on admissions and hotel rates.
Select Marriott properties, including the Mystic Marriott and Spa, offer discount hotel rates for as low as $139 per night, Mickus said.
