Pike Street Pilates in Mattituck is one of the few facilities in the country to offer a new abdominal-focused workout program for women.

To Leslie Beirne, a daily workout doesn’t necessarily need to be “Insanity.” Which is why this local trainer has decided to take on something called “Bellyfit” — a new workout for women focused on your core that is a gentler version of something like the “Insanity” DVD system that is all the rage on informercials these days.

EAST HAMPTON

A  won't be the only new store headed for Wainscott.

Wainscott Hardware is opening in the hamlet in mid-May. Located in the former , next to , the 3,000-square-foot store is situated directly on Montauk Highway.

Owner Juan Carlos Diaz jumped at the opportunity to lease the space, which he said is convenient for customers living and working in the Wainscott-Sagaponack-Bridgehampton area who want to avoid traffic going into Bridgehampton and East Hampton, and get back on the job quickly.

RIVERHEAD

One of America’s best breads can be found on the East End, according to "Saveur" magazine.

The Blue Duck Bakery Cafe, with locations in Southold and Southampton -- and -- has received a nod of recognition from “Saveur” magazine.

WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS

Shawn Mett, owner of Island Surf in Westhampton Beach believes that after fourteen years of sweat, tears and grinding, he has realized "the American Dream, taking his passion for surf and manifesting it to a level where it has become its own life; an entity, which had always been his goal.

SOUTHAMPTON

's Hidden Cellar Society, a wine club for young wine lovers, held a meet-up at  Wednesday night, where members could have a glass of wine produced in Sagaponack or a draft brewed in Southampton Village.
