Sumatran Design Store Comes to Main Street

Andrianna Shamaris' namesake interior design and Indonesian antique store in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood opened a sister shop in Southampton Village on Thursday.

Originally from London, Shamaris has a studio in Sumatra that designs, creates and collects furniture, home accessories and clothing from around Southeast Asia. Shamaris works with petrified wood, bronze, resin, textiles and more.

"It's really about capturing that part of the world," said store manager Cecilie Richards.

Developer Calls Out for Downtown Riverhead Parking Plan

As revitalization efforts move forward in downtown Riverhead, at least one developer believes the town board needs to come up with a comprehensive parking plan.

Aquebogue resident Ray Dickhoff, the developer behind the Summerwind project downtown, spoke at last week's town board meeting -- and asked if the town board has been looking at a parking plan for the downtown area.

Dickhoff asked if the board was considering limiting the time a resident could park downtown to three hours.

New Owners for Front Street Station in Greenport

A new day is dawning for Greenport's long-timeFront Street Station restaurant.

New owners Sharon Sailor and her father David Sailor announced Sunday that they had purchased the popular Greenport eatery, located at 212 Front Street.

The Sailors are well-known on the North Fork; they owned  which  for 10 years -- and created a warm and friendly ambiance reminiscent of "Cheers," where locals all knew one another by name.

EAST HAMPTON

Management: Gurney's Inn Has Not Been Sold

Following rumors that  in Montauk had been sold, the resort management are speaking out.

"Gurney’s Inn has not been sold," according to a statement from the management at Gurney's on Monday afternoon. "Currently conversations are taking place between Gurney’s timeshare owners and a potential investor. At this point we are not at liberty to discuss those conversations."
