East End Employment Expo Heads to Town

The event is free; workshops will be offered.

Job hunters will get a head's up on Tuesday as the Riverhead Industrial Agency and the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce present the Town of Riverhead East End Employment Expo and Workshops.

The Expo will be held in the Sea Star Ballroom of the , on Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free.

Seminars will be held on topics including "Entrepreneurship As An Option," "The Hispanic Initiative," "Commercial Utility Discounts," and "Economic Incentives Help Businesses Thrive."

Tracy Stark-James, executive director of the IDA, said the Chamber and the IDA wanted to cover a gamut of workforce issues, including preparing the workforce for the workplace, and other issues such as providing incentives for businesses that seek to expand.

"This expo provides an opportunity for both job seekers and employers," Stark-James said. "We hope businesses and the community take advantage of this free opportunity.”

A partial list of companies that will be present with possible employment opportunities at the expo include  Amneal Pharmaceuticals, the , Hampton Jitney, , , New York Life Insurance, Peconic Dunes 4-H Camp, Coach Leathergoods, Primerica, , Sony Factory Store, Prudential, US Army, and the Riverhead Police Department.
