Indoor Farm Market Coming To Jamesport

The Main Road barn, about 5,000 square feet, is expected to be completed by fall.

An indoor farm market in Jamesport is expected to open its doors this fall, as work continues on a barn that will offer year-round products to locals on Main Road.

Located just next to the Glass Greenhouse, Walter Gabrielsen said he's hoping the market - about 5,000 square feet - will be open by September, after starting work last year. The market, built by Mattituck-based New England Barns & Fine Homes, will offer local produce, gifts and baked goods.

"We just want to provide a nice place for people to shop, Gabrielsen said.

The structure won't be the first market of its kind on Main Road in the area, joining Bayview Farms to the west which likewise offers a larger inventory than the typical farm stand. However, Bayview shuts down during winter season.
