LISTEN: 'Arts Mean Business' Keynote Speaker Talks With Local Radio

WPKN 89.5 recently talked with Emily Peck, who will be speaking in downtown Riverhead about collaborating arts and business.

East End Arts announced last month that it will be hosting a forum at the Suffolk Theater called "," focusing on how local businesses can work with groups in the arts to strengthen the local economy for everyone involved.

Emily Peck, director of private sector initiatives with Americans for the Arts, will be the keynote speaker at the event, and spoke with WPKN 89.5 recently, touching base on what her organization does and how it could benefit the local economy.

"There are so many ways that art fits within what businesses are thinking about," she said in the interview. "Health and wellness. Improving community ... We want to show that partnerships are beneficial to their business. It's not just a nice thing to do."

Arts Mean Business will also feature a panel discussion, and will take place at the Suffolk Theater on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through East End Arts, and are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
