Main Street Business Consolidates, Makes Room For New Shop

A popular main street business will consolidate to make room for a new shop in Riverhead in the days to come.

Ray Pickersgill, owner of the Robert James Salon & Spa and president of the Riverhead Business Improvement District, said Tuesday that he's decided to consolidate his business so that there would be room to rent out a space to a smaller shop looking for a home on Main Street.

Much of the space he had wasn't really needed for the salon, Pickersgill said, adding that he was excited to bring a new small business to the landscape.

What business that might be hasn't yet been confirmed. "We thought it would be nice to squeeze a new store on Main Street," he said. "So far, we've had three different people approach us about the space."
