New Chef For the Riverhead Project

A new chef is headed to The Riverhead Project.

A new chef is on the menu at the Riverhead Project in downtown Riverhead.

New executive chef Lia Fallon, most recently of the Jedediah Hawkins Inn, plans to bring contemporary cuisine to the eatery's clientele.

Fallon will also operate her catering company, Lia Fallon Ltd., out of tRP focusing on weddings and special events throughout the North Fork.

After earning a culinary arts degree, Fallon began her career at The Food Network working with chefs such as Emeril Lagasse and Bobby Flay. Fallon is known for recipe development, cooking instruction and catering.

Well-known locally as the executive chef and owner of Amarelle in Wading River for five years, she has operated various catering departments including Black Tie Catering and taught at The Viking Cooking School in Bridgehampton.

"Her dedication, creativity and innovative techniques make her the ideal fit," said tRP owner Dennis McDermott.

Fallon closed Amarelle after a Sound Avenue accident in December that left her badly injured and took the the life of John Scorzelli, Jr.

She said at the time that the inability to keep a staff during the slow season led to her decision.

Fallon continued to work in catering and consulting over the past months and cooked a four-course Valentine’s Day dinner at Roanoke Vineyards in Riverhead.
