New Store, Five Below, Opens on Route 58 Friday

Five-cent hot dogs and a shopping spree will be among the giveaways at Five Below's grand opening in Riverhead this weekend.

It's been a busy week for new businesses on Route 58 in Riverhead.

On Friday, Five Below, a "specialty value retailer," will open at the Saber Riverhead Shopping Center on Route 58.

The store will be located right next to Dick's Sporting Goods, which just celebrated a three-day grand opening, with a visit from Mets Hall of Famer John Franco on Saturday.

On Friday, Big Lots celebrated its ribbon-cutting on Route 58, in the Staples shopping plaza, by donating a $1500 check to the Riverhead Central School District.

According to representatives, Five Below offers "trend-right, high-quality merchandise" to teens and pre-teens with everything in the store priced $1 to $5. 

Product offerings inclde iPhone, Galaxy, and tablet accessories; video games; toys and games; fashion accessories; arts and crafts; and fitness equipment. Five Below also always offers the latest seasonal items and will be featuring a Christmas display when the doors open in Riverhead on Friday, including decorations and gift ideas. 

To celebrate the grand opening, the new store will give away Five Below T-shirts, five-cent hot dogs, and other prizes during the grand opening weekend, including one $100 Five Below shopping spree.

Store hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. through 9 p.m.  and Sunday 11 a.m. through 6 p.m.
