New Walmart Hiring; 85 Jobs Up For Grabs

The new Walmart, slated to open up in early 2014 on Route 58, is hiring — with 85 new jobs on the table.

According to Walmart reps, 85 new associates will be hired to work at the relocating Riverhead Walmart.

Applications will be accepted at a kiosk near the Site to Store location at the store currently located at 765 Old Country Road.

The new, larger 145,000-square-foot store will be sited at 1880 Old Country Road. Workmen are toiling furiously at the location to get it ready for opening.

“We are excited to add this relocated Walmart within Riverhead and bring more jobs with great career opportunities to the area,” store manager Craig Winkler said.

Both full-time and part-time jobs are available, he added.

Applications will be accepted during store hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Interested applicants can also submit their info online.

And just in time for Veterans Day, Walmart has announced that through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months. For more info, click here. 

The majority of new hires will begin work in mid-November to help prepare the store for its grand re-opening.
