A crowd turned out for the grand opening celebration.

celebrated its grand opening on Friday, offering scores of guests a taste of things to come.

Approximately 85 guests enjoyed live music at the North Fork Tasting Room, the lastest addition to the  in Baiting Hollow by veteran restauranteur Frederick H. Terry, Sr. The new venue is located right alongside the still-operating Lobster Roll Northside.

Terry Sr. decided to come back out of semi-retirement to create a new concept tasting room for both foods and beverages.

Terry founded the popular Hamptons eatery, The Lobster Roll, a.k.a. Lunch, in Amagansett over 40 years ago and remains a principal in the business; he decided to breathe life into a new incarnation of the .

Plans for the newly shaped Riverhead business include utilizing The Lobster Roll Northside's existing kitchens to produce a retail line including packaged lobster and seafood salads, baked breads, cookies, artisanal cheese boards, packaged seasonings, sauces, coffees, oils and local wine vinegars.

Also featured will be a small tasting room offering local wines and craft beers. "We’ve been doing wine flights and beer on the deck for those customers waiting to enter the restaurant,” Terry said. Adding that up until now, the concept was weather dependent, Terry said, "It’s only natural to replace the existing empty shop space with food samplings as well as wine and beer tastings.”

Guests at Friday's event enjoyed and passed hors d’oeuvres, including lobster turnovers, lobster salad cups, filet mignon with hollandaise and asparagus, local goat cheese selections, and smoked salmon rolls, and sampled a variety of wines poured by vineyard representatives.

The new concept tasting room will feature Long Island wines, local craft beer, gourmet specialty foods, artisanal cheese and a retail marketplace, as well as special events.

The tasting room officially opened to the public on Saturday and will be open Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from noon till 8 p.m.
