PHOTOS: Long Ireland Celebrates Grand Opening Midway to St. Pat's

Microbrewery, located on Pulaski Street in Polish Town, celebrates grand opening.

The Long Ireland Beer Company, which, celebrated its grand opening on Saturday. Saturday also happened to be the half-way point to St. Patrick's Day, a day much revered by beer drinkers and the Irish alike.

An exact head count was hard to get a hold of - admission was free - but both co-owners Greg Martin and Dan Burke said the showing was far more than they had expected.

"We were probably getting 12 to 15 calls a day asking questions about it," Martin said. "'Can we bring our kids?' 'What's the cost of admission?' So if we're getting that many calls, that's probably just a small slice of the people here."

Bangers and Mash performed live in the brewery, and Mapletree BBQ offered a food option for guests.
