Riverhead Employment Expo Tuesday May 13 at the Aquarium 5-7 p.m.

Next Tuesday, May 13, the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce and the Riverhead Industrial Development Agency will host their annual East End Employment Expo in downtown Riverhead, bringing together those looking for employment, and employers searching for qualified help.

The employment expo will take place next Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sea Star Ballroom, at the Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center.

Job seekers are not required to pre-register, however those seeking employees are encouraged to contact the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce at 727-7600.

The Employment Expo is looking for employees with experience in the high skill labor pool as well as trade and craftspeople. IDA executive director Tracey Stark-James pointed to growing needs in architecture, marketing reps, water-proofers, metal fabricators, glazers as well as employees in in hospitality, retail and insurance fields.

According to the Suffolk Times Ms. Mary Hughes, the executive director of the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, who was unavailable for comment, was quoted in the Suffolk Times Review as being optimistic about the prospects for this year’s fair.  She said in interview with the Suffolk Times Review that in the past the job fair has attracted as many as 300 job applicants the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce and Riverhead Industrial Development Agency hope to have turnout exceed previous years.
