Skydive L.I. Buys New Space at EPCAL

Calverton skydiving company purchased a 23,000-square-foot space in February, according to 'Long Island Business News' report.

According to a Long Island Business News reportSkydive Long Island, a Calverton skydiving facility located at Enterprise Park at Calverton, recently closed on a new property at EPCAL and is opening this season in their new digs.

The article states that the new space is nearly than 10 times bigger than its old facility, measuring around 23,000 square feet compared to the former two 1,200 square-foot buildings it formerly operated in.

Owner Ray Maynard is quoted as saying: “More people go jumping during bad times than when it’s good. People aren’t going to drop thousands of dollars on vacations, but they will spend $200 or $250 to go skydiving.”

Skydive Long Island opens for its 2012 season in its new facility on March 31.
